On the evening of October 31st 2006 sessions began on a unique recording project.
The concept: create a horror soundtrack for a movie before it has been shot. This soundtrack would then be used to inspire the filmmakers in the creative process.
The experiment began with an upright piano from the early 1900’s, which was skinned and placed in the middle of a large warehouse. The improvised 45 minute piece that was recorded would be the foundation for the entire project.
Get an inside look as experimental music group ‘Dead Air Animal’ pokes, prods, hammers and bows sounds of horror from this antique piano and manipulates them in the studio to create a bizarre and frightening soundscape.
